Welcome to my site and blog! Typical of my style, I’ve decided to jump right in, in spite my anxieties and trepidations regarding sharing such a personal aspect of myself with anyone who would care to know. It has been a long-time dream of mine to become a fine artist. A couple of years ago, I decided succeed or fail, I had to try. My goal in creating this blog is to share and document the varied, sometime painful, yet rewarding process of creating art. While art is supposed to speak for itself, and I would certainly never want to interfere in individual interpretations, I have found that some paintings tend to have more meaning when one knows what the artist’s goals, thoughts, insights, and inspirations were during the process. Like most people, I am still learning and tend to be quite insecure regarding my seemingly insignificant contribution to society, but being gregarious by nature, I invite you to join me for the ride. I have found that floundering with others is better than floundering alone.
I am so excited that I will be able to look at all your art anytime I wish. Thanks for getting this site going.
Jolly good work!
Talya,
Thanks for the response…
I know how these Art Shows go.. I have almost given
up on live shows… I am getting up in age and my health is not good, and its a hassle to drag my paintings around town . Mainly now I rely on the Internet Galleries to show and sell my work.
I have been painting on and off since 1963 when I was in Art School in New York. (about 45 years).
I was in Graphic Arts as a designer of packaging, and had a nice career.
You are very talented.. I like your work alot…so don’t
be too depressed, I know that’s easy to say, and I
get that way myself sometimes, after all these years.
Painting isn’t cheap anymore, it’s expensive to do and frames, forget about it….
Hardly anyone wants to pay the Artists’ price…It’s
been that way for a long time, and it probably won’t get
any better. (even Van Gogh had to drop his price on the
only painting he ever sold in his lifetime, he got 400 francs, about $80.00 for it)
Well Talya, be confident, as I said, you are very talented
and I don’t say that to everyone….
Best Regards,
Bob
