Welcome Home - birch and aspen trees

Image Description

"Welcome Home" is an original impressionist treescape of birch trees by contemporary fine artist Talya Johnson.

Behind the Canvas

I love looking out my window at the birch and aspen tree wooded forest that surround my Alaskan property. The green foliage twinkles as they vibrate with the sun. Golden light dances and reflects off of the flat surfaces of every leaf. For this particular oil painting I focused on a particular white birch, the shape of its branches resembled long arms waiting to embrace me with the love and support of my friends, family, ancestors, and God. Encircle your self with vibrant green and gold summer color. Don't forget to browse the rest of my site for more Tree paintings and Landscape painting!

"When I paint trees, I always remember to be mindful of negative space and the shape of the sky holes between the foliage. They are just as important to the composition as the tree trunk or branches." -Talya Johnson

If you look closely you may recognize this birch tree and aspen tree forest from a few of my other landscape/tree paintings. namely:
Last stand - A golden Fall tree-scape's final farewell
Unexpected Path - A fanciful trip between soft pastel paint tree trunk's
Redemption - Celebratory red autumn tree landscape rendered in oil paint

"I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree,
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again."
-Robert Frost
